He held in his demesne as of fee

of the king in chief by knight service 1/3 hamlet or manor of Bickenhall. There are in the hamlet or manor 30s. assize rents paid yearly by various tenants at Christmas, Easter, the Nativity of St. John the Baptist and Michaelmas in equal portions.
He was also seised in his demesne as of fee of the following:
the yearly rent of a rose at the Nativity of St. John the Baptist from 1/3 burgage with 1/3 curtilage adjoining in Taunton from William Borde , who held it for life by grant of William Orchard named in the writ;
1/3 messuage and 10 a. arable in Cossington and 1/3 cottage and 1 a. arable, all held of Robert Brent , service unknown, annual value 6s. 8d.;
3s. 5d. rent yearly from 2 a. meadow in Woolmersdon paid at the abovementioned terms by Hugh Scathelok , who holds for life by grant of William Orchard , to whom the reversion belongs.

He died on 24 Dec. last. Richard Orchard is his son and next heir, aged 8 years and more.
