He held in his demesne as of fee tail more lands than were specified in the inquisition taken after his death by order of ‪ Henry IV and returned to Chancery [27 Sept. 1409: CIPM XIX, no. 495]: the manor of Great Missenden, 1/2 of 2/3 and 2/3 of 1/3 manor of Quainton, the advowson of the abbey of Missenden which pertains to the manor of Great Missenden, and 1/3 advowson of the church of Quainton in fee tail by grant of Thomas Lambyn, chaplain , to Bernard's grandfather Thomas Mussenden , his wife Isabel and Thomas's heirs, i.e. Thomas's son Edmund and Edmund's son Bernard.

Great Missenden. The manor with the advowson of the abbey are held of the earl of Stafford by service of 5s. yearly for all services, annual value, £10.
Quainton, 1/2 and 2/3 manor,with the advowson of 1/3 church are held of the king of the honor of Wallingford by the service of a rose yearly for all services, annual value 40 marks.
He also held in his demesne as of fee
5s. rent in Amersham paid at Easter and Michaelmas in equal portions;
2 a. meadow in Little Missenden, annual value 2s.;
a messuage, 22 a. arable, 1/2 a. meadow in Great Kimble, annual value 11s.;
10s. rent in the same township paid at the two terms mentioned above;
a messuage, 3 tofts, 2 carucates and 10s. rent in Swanbourne, annual value 7 marks paid at the terms mentioned above;
7 messuages, 242 a. arable, 56 a. meadow, 37 a. pasture in Littlecote and Stewkley with the advowson of the chapel of Littlecote, annual value 5 marks;
£4 16s. rent in the townships of Littlecote and Stewkley at the terms mentioned above,
held of Anne, countess of Stafford , service unknown.

He died on 28 Aug. 1409. Katharine and Alice are his daughters and next heirs, Katharine aged 13 years and more, Alice 12 years and more.

[Margin;] John Horwode, late sub-escheator, as he claims, of Thomas Mannyngham, late escheator of Buckinghamshire delivered this inquisition into this court on 12 July 1425 in the presence of Cheyne who married the wife of Hugh Mortemer.n564_002

n564_002^: Probably John Cheyne of Chenies, whose second wife Isabel, née Frome, was the widow of Bernard Missenden of Great Missenden (the above, d. 1409) and of Hugh Mortimer of Weldon, Northants (d. 1416).
