Holdings
On the day of his forfeiture by Henry IV he held the manor of Gussage St. Michael to him and the heirs of his body by grant of his brother Roger Mortimer, late earl of March , by his indented charter [French, quoted verbatim] witnessed by Humphrey de Stafford , Stephen Derby , John Moigne , knights, John Frome , John Manyford , and dated at London, 1 Aug. 1393, hown to the jurors. Roger died and the reversion descended to his son and heir Edmund Mortimer, now earl of March. Roger's brother Edmund died without heirs of his body. The manor is held of the prior of Monkton Farleigh by service of one sparrowhawk paid at the feast of St Peter in Chains for all service.
