Addressed to the escheator in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, but endorsement of execution refers to only one inquisition.

Holdings

He held in demesne as of fee, of Henry IV, the manors of Brinsley and Trowell, by service of ... a horse worth 5s., a sack, and a ‘pryk’, at his own costs, in time of war in the king’s army in Wales for forty days, and rendering for the manor of Brinsley at the Exchequer 3s. 4d. at Lady Day and the nativity of the Virgin, by the hands of the sheriff, and for the manor of Trowell ....6s. 8d. at the said terms. The manor of Brinsley is worth 8m. 6s. 8d. and [the manor of Trowell] is worth 40s.

He died on the vigil of All Saints, 7 Henry IV, and ?William Brynnesley is his son and next heir, aged 21 and more.

John Broun ?late servant of Richard, lord de Grey, and Edmund Lancastre, esquire, occupied the manors and received the issues from the time of John’s death, and Edmund still occupies and receives them.
