Holdings

Nicholas Rycote and Katharine his wife held the manor of Rycote to them and the heirs of their bodies. They had issue Joan who married Nicholas Englefeld and had 3 daughters, Sybil now aged 15, Cecily now aged 12, and Agnes 8. Katharine and Joan died during the life of Nicholas Rycote . He granted the manor to Nicholas Englefeld to hold for the term of his life with reversion to himself.

Nicholas Englefeld died on 1 April last. Sybil, Cecily and Agnes are next heirs in blood of Nicholas Rycote and Katharine, and heirs to the manor, which is held of the king in chief of the honor of Wallingford as half a knight’s fee, annual value 100s.
