Holdings
He formerly held in his demesne as of fee 1 messuage in the close of the royal palace of Westminster with the office of keeper of the palace. Long before his death by charter dated 4 March 1413 he granted them to John Wakeryng , John Makworth , Henry Kays and Robert Thresk , clerks, William Cheyne , John Slory , William Babyngton , Peter de la Pole , William Wakefeld and William Fyndern and their heirs and assigns by royal licence [CPR 1413–16, p.159]. They are held of the king in chief by the service of keeping the palace, taking 6d. daily by the hands of the sheriff of London; and when the king is in the palace taking bread, wine and the common dish from the kitchen, and candles, as all the king’s servants have. When the king leaves the palace he takes the fuel and bedding remaining in the chambers and the hay in the stables, and when the king repairs the houses there all the old timber, tiles and other materials. From every merchant with stall or shop in the palace he takes 12d. a quarter. The whole annual value is £10.
He died 15 March last. Roger de Sapurton , his brother and heir, is aged 36 years and more.

He formerly held in his demesne as of fee 1 messuage and 1 garden in the close of Fleet with the office of keeping the king’s prisoners there, and a rent of £6 14s.5d. from various lands and tenements in London, and by his charter dated 4 March 1413 he granted them to John Wakeryng and others [as above]. All are held of the king in grand serjeanty by the service of keeping the prisoners, taking 6d. daily by the sheriffs of London, and from each prisoner 2s.4d.
