Holdings

Owing to the minority of John, son and heir of Richard Tomer, 1 messuage, 60 a. arable, 10 a. meadow, 8 a. wood and 31 a. pasture in Henstridge, held of the heir of John late earl of Salisbury and by him, also a minor in the king’s ward, of the king in chief by knight service, came into the king’s hands, annual value £4.
On 18 Jan. 1401 the king, by letters patent [CPR 1399–1401 , p.406] shown to the jurors, granted custody to the value of 100s. to Isabel Thorley until the full age of the heir of Richard. Thomas Thorley and Isabel granted the custody to Alice widow of John Thomer and William Carent .

John the son of Richard died under age on 26 Sept. 1407 Edith, then aged 10 years and more, was his sister and heir.

She died on 25 July last . Alice wife of William Carente is her aunt and heir, being the sister of Richard her father, and aged 30 years and more.
