Robert atte Hethe, vicar of Aldermaston church , and John Motyn, chaplain , were formerly seised of a messuage, 100 a. land, 2 1/2 a. meadow and 40s. rent in East Ginge. By their indented charter they granted and confirmed the above, described as all their lands and tenements with meadow, pasture, rents, services, wardship, marriage, fines, relief, heriot, escheat, reversions and all other appurtenances in East Ginge and in a meadow called ‘Lylleseye’, to John Bienham of Edmondsthorpe for life, remainder to Philip Bienham his son and heir, and Alice wife of Philip and the heirs of Philip’s body, royal licence first obtained. John Bienham was seised for his lifetime and died seised. After his death Philip and Alice were seised by virtue of the remainder as jointly enfeoffed. Philip died seised of this estate and Alice survives him in this estate. The messuage, land, meadow and rent are held of the king in chief by service of 1/10 knight’s fee, annual value 16s. 8d.
He died on 6 May last. William Bienham is his son and next heir, aged 28 years and more.

He held the following in his demesne as of fee. Edmondsthorpe, a messuage, 40 a. arable and 6 a. meadow, of the king in chief by service of keeping the king’s parks of Freemantle in Kingsclere and by service of paying the king 2d. at Michaelmas at his castle of Winchester. The messuage is worth nothing yearly, each acre of land 2d. yearly and each acre of meadow 12d. yearly. Kingsclere, a messuage and a virgate, of John Melton, chevalier , service unknown. The messuage is worth nothing yearly because derelict, and the virgate 12d. yearly. Clere Woodcott and Redelond, a toft and 40 a. land, of the heirs of John de la Hyde , service unknown. The toft is worth 6d. yearly and each acre of land 4d. yearly.
Date of death and heir as in 738, except that here heir is aged 26 years and more.
